"102 SSC" - Oyaide Electric Precision Conductor

  • To avoid impurities as much as possible, only virgin copper that does not contain any recycled copper is used in accordance with JIS C1011.
  • Peeling process is applied to remove 100% of impurities attached to the surface.
  • In order to facilitate the flow of electrical signals through the surface layer of the conductor, the strand is made finer using a natural diamond die to improve the surface smoothness of the strand.
  • The stranded wire is processed with a processing accuracy of ±1μm, far exceeding the standard error tolerance of ±8μm.
  • Two annealing processes are used to eliminate mechanical stress distortions in the strands.

Patented "3E Stranded" Technology for Twisting Three Different Sizes of Wires Together


The 3E stranded structure is a concentric stranding arrangement of stranded wires in a lump-sum twisted wire conductor, and by arranging three different strand diameters, the stranding arrangement is made denser. By arranging three different strand diameters, the strand arrangement is made denser, enabling a finer conductor structure and improving conductor characteristics.

The strands of these three different conductor diameters are arranged geometrically to minimize the gaps between strands and improve strand density.

Furthermore, the outer diameter of the strands has been downsized to maintain a stable and highly accurate outer diameter, and the cross section after twisting is a perfect circle, an unprecedented conductor structure in the world. This ensures uniform adhesion between the insulator and conductor, eliminating random thickness of the insulation material and making it uniform.

Ultra-thick Conductor Reduces Signal Transmission Loss

Its 1.25sq. (16AWG) conductor has the largest diameter among Oyaide's interconnect cables, making it suitable as the flagship of our interconnect cables.

Use of polymer polyolefin with excellent electrical characteristics for insulation to reduce signal loss

Polymer polyolefin with excellent electrical characteristics is used for the insulation coating of the conductor. Compared to ordinary PVC insulation, it has an extremely low dielectric constant of 1/4, which reduces signal loss and produces a less muddy reproduction sound.

The use of polymer polyolefin materials with different hardnesses for the outer and inner cores respectively prevents the effects of resonance on the sound.

The cable is covered with an elegant pearl-white urethane sheath that is highly durable. On the surface of the sheath, "TUNAMI TERZO V2" and "102 SSC" are marked to clearly identify the V2 model.

Triple Layer Shielding to Shut Out Noise

Triple Layer shielding is employed: 1st layer: electromagnetic wave absorber, 2nd layer: copper foil, and 3rd layer: horizontally wound shield.

In the first layer, electromagnetic waves caused by magnetic flux disturbance are converted into heat energy by electromagnetic wave absorbers mixed in the compound.

The second layer has a copper tape shield to protect the signal from external noise.

The third layer, a horizontally wound shield, is made of 102 SSC, a precision conductor, with 160 0.12mm wires placed without gaps. This shields out not only external noise, but also internally generated noise and spark noise caused by vibration at a high level.

"FOCUS 1" - Oyaide Original XLR Plug


The most innovative and novel technology of FOCUS 1 is the one-touch push-pull function (utility model). The lock is activated by simply inserting it into the inlet on the output side, and can be removed by simply pulling the ring on the end of the lock. In addition, a ball bearing type lock is used for the lock, which is the result of the most sophisticated precision machining. These are completely new locking functions not found in conventional products. This ensures smooth and secure installation of the "FOCUS 1.

The contact pins are made from round phosphor bronze rod, machined with high precision by highly programmed CNC machining, and then carefully mechanically barrel polished and direct plated with two layers of silver + rhodium. These pins are then insert-molded into PBT (GF30%) resin to form the strongest and most shock-resistant contacts ever.

Similarly, the outer shell and housing are CNC-machined from brass round bar stock, and the CNC-machined shell and body are denser than conventional lost-wax materials, providing higher shielding performance. The surface treatment is hard chrome plated, just like the camera body.

Oyaide "SS-47" Solder for Audio Application


Plugs and cables are soldered with "SS-47", a lead-free silver solder specially designed for acoustic use. Ordinary solder has a tin purity of about 99.9% (3N) due to cost considerations." SS-47" is made of high-purity tin that is 99.993% (4N) or higher, eliminating impurities to the utmost limit. In addition, silver and copper are added to improve conductivity and prevent solder from being eaten away.

Furthermore, the ratio of silver in a normal alloy solder is 3 to 3.5%, but in "SS-47" a whopping 4.7% is used without hesitation. In addition, SS-47 contains 1.7% copper, which has the second highest conductivity among metals after silver. This ratio dramatically improves the conductivity, and we succeeded in setting the eutectic point at 217 degrees Celsius. Of course, these blending ratios were not determined by numerical data and workability alone.

We believe that sound quality should be the top priority for a product to be labeled as an audio solder. SS-47" is the result of numerous listening tests of prototype models with various mixing ratios.
