Features

"102 SSC" - Oyaide Electric Precision Conductor

  • To avoid impurities as much as possible, only virgin copper that does not contain any recycled copper is used in accordance with JIS C1011.
  • Peeling process is applied to remove 100% of impurities attached to the surface.
  • In order to facilitate the flow of electrical signals through the surface layer of the conductor, the strand is made finer using a natural diamond die to improve the surface smoothness of the strand.
  • The stranded wire is processed with a processing accuracy of ±1μm, far exceeding the standard error tolerance of ±8μm.
  • Two annealing processes are used to eliminate mechanical stress distortions in the strands.

Short Pitch Stranded Wire Eliminates Sound Quality Degradation Caused by Inter-wire Distortion

Short pitch stranded wire twisted at 1.15 times the normal tension eliminates random gaps in the conductor and suppresses sound quality degradation caused by inter-wire distortion.

Polymer polyolefin with excellent electrical characteristics is used for the insulation coating of the conductor. Compared to ordinary PVC insulation, it has an extremely low dielectric constant of 1/4, which reduces signal loss and produces a less muddy reproduction sound. In addition, the use of different polyolefin materials for the exterior and interior prevents resonance from affecting the sound.

Ultimate Noise Protection with 3-Layer Sealing Consisting of Electromagnetic Wave Absorber/Carbon Layer/Copper Foil

Three-layer sealing with electromagnetic wave absorber (1st layer), carbon layer (2nd layer), and copper foil (3rd layer) is adopted.

The first layer converts electromagnetic waves caused by the inevitable magnetic flux disturbance into heat energy by mixing the electromagnetic wave absorber into the compound. When electricity flows through the cable, weak vibrations are generated, and the vibration causes corona discharge in materials charged with static electricity.

Therefore, a semiconductor layer (carbon layer) is added in the second layer to promote the discharge of static electricity without affecting the conductor.

The third layer is a copper tape shield to protect the conductor from external noise. In addition, the copper foil shield is placed in close proximity to the drain wire and is bonded to ground to further improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Oyaide's Original "SPSL" Spade Connector are Installed

A total of eight silver/platinum-plated "SPSL" Y-lugs, Oyaide's pride and joy, are attached to both the left and right terminals. The base material is a RoHS compliant Japanese copper alloy that contains no lead or iron. It is machined by NC machining from a 15mm-diameter round bar. The tip insertion part has a two-stage shape of 6mm and 8mm to fit a wide range of speaker terminals. The main body is carefully buffed and polished by hand to a mirror finish. The body is polished to perfection and finished with a two-layer plating of sterling silver and platinum. This original two-layer plating gives the "SPSL" a high quality and elegant atmosphere as well as sound.

The "SPSL" is joined to the cable by a torque-controlled screw connection. In addition, the plug and cable are completely sealed with a tough, gas-barrier heat-shrinkable tubing that is both durable and oxidation-proof for the conductors. The heat-shrinkable tubing is highly transparent, allowing a glimpse of the blue glint of the stainless steel screws that are the design feature of "SPSL" to be seen at the end of the cable. Strong aluminum machined bifurcated stabilizer. The bifurcated stabilizer is an original part developed exclusively for "TUNAMI II SP-Y V2" and is made by NC machining a round aluminum rod with high precision. This precision part, perfectly matched to the design dimensions of the "TUNAMI NIGO V2", is mounted stably using fine threads with strictly controlled torque, and by making multiple contacts at six points with the cable section. The mass and vibration damping properties of aluminum make TUNAMI II SP-Y V2 the high-end speaker cable we could have wished for.

Cable Outer Sheath

The color of its outer sheath is ceramic white which was selected with consideration of interior matching. Its 5.5sq cross-section area of the conductor has excellent vibration damping property and stable signal transmission.
