This "MTS-6e" AC power strip is lined up as an audio grade and is created by based on our long-time knowhow. Due to the employment of detachable power cord, you can enjoy trying various power cable and selecting your favorite sound character.
The Dual-Spring vise structure is newly-developed for the contacts of our new outlet, SWD-XXX-E. Due to its strong holding power and 9mm wide contact area, the contacts tightly hold the inserted pins and reduce vibration at the contacts with no loss of signal transmission.
The main body of the outlet is made of PBT + GF30%, a high density engineering plastic material with both excellent mechanical properties and electrical insulation properties, to increase the braking capacity to the utmost limit.
The chassis of MTS-6e is made of highly rigid stainless steel which is non-magnetic SUS 304. It protects from not only vibration but also electric-magnetic wave or external noise contamination. And all components, from 1.6mm thick chassis down to every stainless screws, are made of non-magnetic substance.
For the soldering connection, we employed SS-47 audio grade solder.
Compared to general solders which usually contain 3N (99.9%) pure tin, SS-47 contains 4N (99.993%) pure tin achieved by excluding impurities to the maximum. Furthermore, 4.7% silver and 1.7% copper are contained for the purpose of improvement of electric conductivity and durability.
For the inlet, we use the NC174RR (IEC60320 inlet), which was specially developed for our power strips. The inlets are made of buffed brass and plated with a thick layer of highly conductive pure silver (1.5μ) as a base material, and then finished with three times thicker rhodium plating (0.3μ) and two layers of high quality plating.
The outer casing is made of heat-resistant reinforced resin mixed with glass powder (30%GF PBT) for the highest quality inlets with high speed and extended sound quality.
The improvement of the MTS-4e is not limited to the selection of materials; the IEC inlet uses an electromagnetic wave absorber to absorb magnetic noise generated at the contact point and reduce the magnetic distortion caused by the contact.
We adapted electromagnetic wave absorption tape "MWA-010T" which is used around important internal electric contacts and the inside of the chassis to reduce magnetic distortion around the contacts..
For its internal wiring for AC mains, we employed 2.0mm 4N OFC copper solid wire. And for its insulator, we employed low-dielectric Polyorefin resin.
For the ground wire, which is one of the key elements that determine the sound, we used our 3398-14 with a precision conductor "102 SSC" copper wire.
For the better separation from the floor, we specially employed accurately machined brass spikes. Although it is set to four-point support as default, three point support is also applicable according to your preference.
