2006 AUDIO EXCELLENCE AWARDS(JAPAN)
Tradition and Innovation
It was 25 years ago; the original OR-800 was launched and quickly established the Classic status in Japan. As one of pioneers of today’s cable hype, it has been supported tremendously by audiophiles for over two decades. We seized production due to inevitable increase in production cost because of its unique and intricate structure. However, encouraged by overwhelming popularity, we decided to renew this Classic.
After one and a half years of revaluation on materials and methods, the new OR-800 Advance still inherits the original structure and authentic contents but now with improved materials and high-tech sophistication backed by up-to-date technology.
ConductorOriginal fine OFC Litz wire (0.12mm dia.), made into a bundle of 399 strands (7x57) as a core. Being in Litz structure, eliminate disturbed electro-magnetic formation and strain distortion between conductors but advantageous with skin effect to minimize loss of high frequency response. |
InsulationOriginal Cotton thread winding; for overwhelming resonance suppression factor and extremely low; electrostatic capacitance, electromagnetic induction factor and dielectric constant factor. Plastic compounds are superior for mass productivity but not perfect for those crucial terms for undisturbed signal transport. |

Outer CoverPolymer polyolefin compound for low dielectric constant factor (1/3 of vinyl) and fast resonance absorption property. |
TerminalsTerminated with spades to match 6 and 8 mm posts.Spade; highly polished 2mm thick solid OFC, applied with extra thick Silver-base-plating and Palladium plating to finish. Connection to cable is by Lead-free solder with non-chloride flux. |
