In these days, many equipments which employed IEC 20A (IEC60320 C13) type inlets have come onto the global market of high-end audio. We at Oyaide Electric who have aimed at responding the needs of users all the time produced high capacitance IEC 20A connectors of P/C series.
Obviously, C-237/246/279 inherited each sound characteristic of P/C series and are produced by applying high-quality materials and plating techniques
The contacts of C-237/246/279 are made from deoxidized phosphor bronze which had previously proved its superiority in the high performance P/C series. It insures high conductivity, mechanical characteristic and reduces vibration at the point of contact with no loss of signal transmission.
Inheriting P/C series, three kinds of combination plating are employed as well as the contacts. The outer barrel is made from polycarbonate which has superior mechanical strength compare to other resinic materials.

Plating Process
To complete C-237/246/279, the manufacturing process is started from foundation coating. The punched out components are hand polished piece by piece after machined barrel-polishing.
There is no other example that both of two polishing processes are applied to audio products. Each characteristic of them was established by Oyaide original combination plating and buffing process after exhaustive listening test. |
Body
30% glass filled PBT is employed for its excellent machining characteristic and electrical isolation. The highly rigid body of the P/C series realizes high-speed vibration attenuation. All screws, designed specifically for P/C series, are made of highly rigid stainless steel. Moreover, the cable has never separated from the plug by a force less than 30kg for a safety reason. |
Outer casing
The outer barrel is made from thick Polycarbonate. Its strength and rigidity attenuate small vibration at high speed with no added distortion. |
Broad contact area (IEC 20A)
The contact of C-237/246/279 is made from 1.4mm thick deoxidized phosphor bronze. This provides maximum contact area, huge holding power and vibration damping property at the point of contact with no loss of signal transmission. |
